Reuse tip: Shredded paper can be donated to pet shops or used in a home composting system in small quantities.
Recycling bin
Most paper can be recycled in your yellow lid recycling bin. This includes newspaper, junk mail, brochures, office paper, wrapping paper, used notebooks, unbleached paper, glossy paper, magazines, envelopes (including window envelopes), phone books, greeting cards, coloured paper, paper bags and scrap paper. Shredded paper can be recycled if it’s boxed and sealed.
Recycling and Waste Centre
Note: paper recycled at a Recycling and Waste Centre is not shredded.
General waste bin
Plastic padded envelopes, paper lined with plastic or wax, loose shredded paper, thermal receipt and thermal fax paper can’t be recycled.
