Located on more than 14.5 hectares in Capalaba, Redlands Coast Eco Precinct is being developed as a central hub for environmental learning, wildlife rehabilitation and inclusive community services. Bringing together the expertise of Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, RSPCA’s Wildlife Hospital and My Horizon, the project will offer coordinated facilities that support people, protect wildlife and celebrate Redlands Coast’s natural environment.
Purpose-built to be inclusive, sustainable and community-driven, the precinct will provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to learn, participate and connect with nature. Rooted in a strong commitment to caring for the environment, supporting wildlife and strengthening community, the precinct will set a new benchmark for environmental stewardship while showcasing the unique natural beauty of the Redlands Coast.
What the Precinct will offer
- A welcoming, accessible environment for people of all ages and abilities, including those with disability to connect with nature, participate in community activities, learn about native flora and fauna, and enjoy a tranquil, restorative setting.
- High-quality care, rehabilitation and sanctuary for injured, ill or orphaned native wildlife, helping to preserve biodiversity and provide a safety net for the region’s native species.
- Environmental education, outreach, and community engagement, school tours, workshops, volunteer opportunities, public events, and programs to foster sustainable behaviours and environmental stewardship.
- A sense of belonging to the natural world: inspiring visitors through encounters with Redlands Coast’s flora and fauna, and nurturing empathy, respect, and long-term care for the environment.
