Redland City Plan documents

Queensland Housing Code (QHC)

Although the QHC commenced on 1 September 2026, it does not apply in the Redland City Local Government Area until the Redlands City Plan is amended to indicate that it has been adopted.

There is a three-year transition period (ending 1 September 2029) to allow Councils to decide whether to adopt the QHC and amend their planning scheme accordingly.

Until the Redlands City Plan is amended to apply the QHC, the Queensland Development Code (QDC) MP1.1 and MP1.2, and any related provisions within the planning scheme, will continue to apply.

Redland City Plan

Version 1 of the Redland City Plan was adopted by Council on 6 July 2018 and came into effect on 8 October 2018.

The current version 14 of City Plan was adopted by Council on 17 September 2025 and came into effect on 10 November 2025.
