Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games
On 21 July 2021 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted and named Brisbane the Host City for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Hosting the Games will create a legacy for Brisbane including Redlands Coast and is aligned with our plans for the city’s future.
City-shaping projects like the Birkdale Community Precinct, the location for the new Redland Whitewater Centre, and revitalisation of Capalaba Town Centre are underway and will be important in ensuring Redlands Coast is ready for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Brisbane 2032).
Business opportunities
Part of the benefits of being an event venue city is to support local businesses, create jobs and promote Redlands Coast.
New investment in infrastructure, tourism, trade and community programs will grow Queensland's economy, with more than 90,000 new jobs expected.
The Brisbane 2032 Procurement Program gives local businesses the chance to help deliver one of the world's biggest sporting events. The Program focuses on transparency, sustainability and local benefit. Businesses are encouraged to register via the Supplier Portal to access Games procurement opportunities. By registering, you can:
- get alerts for relevant Expressions of Interests
- showcase your capabilities to Games buyers
- connect with other suppliers and delivery partners.
The Games will bring global attention and create opportunities for local businesses to grow and succeed. We are committed to supporting local business and industries to make the most of these opportunities.
Businesses can prepare for future supply opportunities by becoming 'tender ready'. You can find programs, resources and other information available on the Business Queensland website.
Legacy planning
Council is focussed on working with partner agencies and community leaders to ensure enduring legacy benefits from the Games will be realised for the Redlands Coast community.
The Redlands Coast 2032 Legacy Working Group will help capitalise on this once-in-a-generation opportunity presented by Brisbane 2032.
