  5. Economic governance, leadership and partnerships

Economic Development Roadmap

It provides a clear program of initiatives that:

  • Support business capability and growth
  • Facilitate investment and development opportunities
  • Strengthen partnerships with industry and education providers
  • Deliver targeted projects across priority sectors
  • Enhance the region’s economic profile and competitiveness

The Roadmap ensures that economic development efforts are coordinated, measurable and responsive to changing conditions.

Redlands Coast Prosperity Index

The Redlands Coast Prosperity Index (RCPI) underpins the Strategy by tracking key indicators of economic performance and community wellbeing.

The Index provides an evidence-based view of:

  • Attracting investment - Investment and economic output Business activity and confidence
  • Opportunity and quality jobs - Employment and workforce trends
  • Innovation and business dynamism - Knowledge sectors and entrepreneurship
  • Skills and socioeconomic capacity - Education and liveability

The RCPI is a weighted score that utilises a traffic light system across all individual and combined measurements to indicate expanding, moderating and contracting conditions. This data-driven approach enables Council to monitor progress, identify emerging trends and adapt initiatives to ensure long-term prosperity.
