Redland City Council adopted a new version of the Redland City Local Disaster Management Plan(PDF, 3MB) in December 2024. This plan outlines how Council will assist the community, and work with other emergency agencies, on disaster prevention, preparedness, response and recovery across our City.

Sign up to Redlands Coast Alerts
Redlands Coast residents can opt in for Council’s free emergency notification messaging service Redlands Coast Alerts. This service complements other emergency notification systems, such as those provided by the Bureau of Meteorology and Queensland Fire Department (QFD).
Sign up for Redlands Coast Alerts
Through Redlands Coast Alerts, residents can sign up to receive:
- Community Alert – which will be sent to registered residents when there is potentially dangerous weather which may impact them.
- Flood warnings for four local roads – Allan Day Drive, Wellington Point; Avalon Road, Sheldon; Moores Road, Redland Bay; and the corner of Nelson Road and Pitt Road, Wellington Point.
- Bureau of Meteorology warnings and alerts (by email only).

- evacuation information and routes
- Neighbourhood Safer Places (NSP)
- roads that may flood
- emergency services
- natural hazards and critical infrastructure
- demographic information
- suburb overview, history and major features.
