Bulky household waste
Bulky household waste includes furniture, whitegoods and other large household items. You can donate reusable items to charity, with some providers offering a collection service, donate to RecycleWorld or sell your items. Dispose of broken items at a Recycling and Waste Centre.
If you are a pensioner in Redland City, you can apply for the bulky waste collection service.
Bulky waste collection service
Council partners with STAR Community Services to provide a bulky waste collection service to Redland City pensioners.
Eligible residents can receive one collection per calendar year, for pick-up of up to three items including whitegoods (fridge, freezer, washing machine), household furniture, carpet, bicycles and small metal items. Other material including green waste, hazardous waste (chemicals), construction waste (bricks, concrete, renovation waste) or putrescible waste is not accepted in the service.
How to apply

Do you have a Centrelink Pension Concession Card, DVA Gold Card or Confirmation benefit letter?
Do you reside in a property within Redland City?
- Print and complete the Bulky Waste Collection Service application form(PDF, 180KB)
- Ensure you have the relevant supporting documentation

What happens next
Your request will be processed and if approved sent onto STAR Community Services who will contact you within two working days to arrange a collection time.
Once your booking has been confirmed, any amendments or cancellations must be directed to STAR Community Services on (07) 3821 6699.
