Some Council services and facilities will be closed for the Ekka public holiday on Monday 10 August. Bin collections will operate as normal. Recycling and Waste Centres, the Redland Animal Shelter and Visitor Information Centre will remain open.
Mobility devices such as wheelchairs and mobility scooters are an essential for some people with mobility impairment. More Queenslanders are using mobility devices every year and this is expected to keep growing as our population grows older.
The safe use and operation of mobility scooters and devices are often not communicated well to new users and brings about its own challenges in connecting and integrating with existing traffic and public transport systems. For your guide to safe travels, visit Travelling with a wheelchair or mobility scooter - Department of Transport and Main Roads.
If you are part of a retirement village or a large group of mobility scooter users and would like to have a presentation on mobility scooter safety, please contact us.
