Some Council services and facilities will be closed for the Ekka public holiday on Monday 10 August. Bin collections will operate as normal. Recycling and Waste Centres, the Redland Animal Shelter and Visitor Information Centre will remain open.
On 1 July 2019, the Queensland Government introduced the waste levy to underpin Queensland’s waste management and resource recovery strategy.
From 1 July 2022, and to help Queensland reach its waste and resource recovery targets, several changes are being made to the way the waste levy operates across Queensland.
