Bulky household waste
Redland City Council does not provide a kerbside collection of bulky items. Visit one of our Recycling and Waste Centres to dispose of any items that don’t fit in your wheelie bins. Disposal is free for Redlands Coasts residents with photo ID and proof of address.
Bulky Waste Collection Service - STAR Community Services
Redland City Council partners with STAR Community Services to undertake a Bulky Household Items Collection Service. This service was previously supplied by Council’s Home Assist program.
If you are in possession of a concession Card, DVA Gold Card or a confirmation benefit letter and you reside in a property within Redland City, you may be eligible for the service.
Eligible residents will receive one collection per calendar year, consisting of up to three items such as white goods (fridge, freezer, washing machine etc), household furniture, bicycles and small metal items and carpet. Items such as green waste, hazardous waste (chemicals etc), construction waste (bricks, concrete, renovation waste) or putrescible waste will not be collected under the program.
How to apply
To book a collection, print and complete the Bulky Waste Collection Service application form(PDF, 180KB). Please make sure you have the relevant supporting documentation including Centrelink Concession Card, DVA Gold Card or confirmation benefit letter.
Lodge your completed form (and any relevant documentation) at any one of our Customer Service centres. For opening hours and mapped locations, refer to our Contact us page.

Your request will be processed and sent to STAR Community Services who will contact you within two working days to arrange a collection time.
Once your booking has been confirmed, any amendments or cancellations must be directed to STAR Community Services on (07) 3821 6699.
