Emily Toms is a passionate School Chaplain serving at Victoria Point State School and Scenic Shores State School, where she has the privilege of supporting students, families and school communities through life's challenges and celebrations. With more than 25 years of experience volunteering in children's and youth ministries, camps and community programs, Emily has dedicated her life to investing in the wellbeing, resilience and potential of young people. Prior to chaplaincy, she worked in the aged care and disability sectors, developing a deep appreciation for the power of connection, compassion and hope across every stage of life.
Since moving to Redlands Coast with her family 10 years ago, when her husband Sam became Pastor at Victoria Point Baptist Church, Emily has become deeply connected to the local community. Her involvement in Big Arvo, a program serving students across the Redlands, has allowed her to build lasting relationships with young people and their families beyond the school gates. Drawing on her experiences in chaplaincy, ministry and community engagement, Emily is passionate about the life-changing impact of presence, encouragement and genuine care. Emily and Sam are raising three incredible children who inspire them daily through their heart for serving others and living life with purpose.
