Signage placed along local Council controlled roads within certain specifications may not require a permit.
The following types of community event signs are permitted on local controlled roads and at the event location.

This sign is described as not being at the site of the fair or festival or similar event and has the primary purpose of directing traffic to the event providing it meets the following criteria:

This means you could have 10 roadside signs on Council local controlled roads no bigger than 0.6m2 (standard corflute signs with timber spike at 900mm x 600mm fit within this criteria) providing you have Public Liability Insurance for $20,000,000 and installed 14 days prior to event and removed 2 days after event in a safe location not impeding or obstructing pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
Below is a list of State-controlled roads on Redlands Coast. These would require a permit from the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
