Google Street View is coming to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands (SMBI’s). From Tuesday 28 January, Council has engaged a contractor to capture 360-degree imagery of roads, carparks, parks and boat ramps across the SMBI’s, specifically North Stradbroke, Coochiemudlo, Perulpa, Lamb, Macleay, Karragarra, and Russell Islands.
Over approximately eight weeks, a specially equipped vehicle will capture panoramic imagery across the SMBI's. This data will then be processed and uploaded to Google Street View, making it accessible to the public.
This project’s benefits are numerous:
During the recording phase, residents may notice a vehicle fitted with 360-degree cameras navigating the islands.
