Redland City Mayor's Christmas Appeal 2025
This year Mayor Jos Mitchell has launched her very first Redlands Coast Mayor's Christmas Appeal to support local residents facing hardship over the festive season. The Appeal brings together community spirit and trusted local charities to deliver food, gifts and essential support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, domestic and family violence, or other hardship.
Donations close midnight Christmas Eve, 24 December 2025.
Our chosen charity partners
We invited community-focused organisations to apply to be the Appeal’s financial charity partners and asked them how donations would be used to help local residents in need. From eligible applicants, two organisations were randomly selected to be this year’s inaugural partners. Please join us in congratulating:
Meals on Wheels Brisbane South Redland Community Centre

How your donation will help
Meals on Wheels Brisbane South: All funds will buy nutritious frozen meals for domestic and family violence shelters, and homeless and crisis services across Redland City. Meals will be coordinated through centers at Cleveland and Victoria Point and include support for the bay islands.
Redland Community Centre: Donations will expand their Christmas Project so more children and families receive gifts and food hampers, and will create a dedicated Homeless Christmas Hamper initiative supplying nutritious food and hygiene items for people sleeping rough or in crisis accommodation.
Goods partner — STAR Secret Santa for Seniors Appeal
Council will again support STAR Community Services and their Secret Santa for Seniors Appeal. Drop off thoughtful gifts at Council libraries in Capalaba, Cleveland and Victoria Point. Visit STAR’s website for additional drop-off locations across the city. There's sure to be one near you.
