Celebrate the festive season at Christmas on the Coast 2021! 

Bring your family and friends to Raby Bay Harbour Park, Cleveland between 15-19 December and enjoy a spectacular wonderland of festive cheer on Redlands Coast.

Hosted by Redland City Council, Christmas on the Coast will combine the annual lighting of the city’s Christmas tree and Christmas carols into a five-day celebration from Wednesday 15 December to Sunday 19 December.

From 4.30pm to 9pm there will be a Christmas carols program featuring our finest local talent, an array of children’s rides and family activities, along with the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree, free family photographs with Santa, food trucks and an evening Christmas movie.

Please note: Christmas on the Coast will feature bright lighting, pyrotechnics, special effects and laser lighting displays.

Tickets

Christmas on the Coast is a ticketed event. To meet COVID safety requirements, bookings are essential, with each evening restricted to 2,000 people. 

Ticket prices are $5 per person (Children 12 years and under are FREE) and can include free train travel to and from the event.

Proceeds from  ticket sales will go towards supporting local causes such as domestic and family violence support services.

What’s on

An entertaining program of Christmas festivities will take place each night starting from 4.30pm featuring Christmas carols, roving performers, free family photographs with Santa, children's rides, activities and food trucks. Countdown to the lighting of the Christmas tree from 6.30pm then settle in to watch the Christmas movie in the park from 7.30pm. The event will conclude at 9pm.

Be entertained by talented home-grown artists featuring internationally acclaimed soprano Mirusia and swing/jazz sensation Craig Martin who will headline a spectacular program of Christmas carols. The event will also feature a special children’s show each afternoon presented by ROCKIT Productions. 

Mirusia and Craig are enormously talented and popular entertainers and we are so fortunate that they they’ll be home for Christmas to sing for us. Mirusia will be performing from Wednesday to Saturday, with Craig on each night and Craig’s swing band from Thursday to Sunday

The daily stage program of performers will be announced soon.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) for local Redlands Coast and Brisbane-based performing artists/vocalists have now closed. All submissions are currently being assessed. Successful performing artists will be notified by Friday 3 December.

How do I get there?

By train

Council, in conjunction with TransLink, will provide free train travel on the Cleveland line from Park Road to Cleveland between the hours of 12pm to the last scheduled night service on Wednesday 15 to Sunday 19 December 2021. 

You must register for your valid free train ticket. When purchasing your event ticket you will have the option of adding on your free public transport ticket.

By car

Limited free parking will be available in Cleveland. Guests are encouraged to use the free train travel available with ticket purchase.

Some changed traffic conditions will be in place, so please allow extra time.

What can I bring?

Bring yourselves and your families and a copy of your tickets! Chairs, blankets, picnics, food and drinks can be brought into the event. However no glass, metal cutlery or alcohol is permitted.

Please refer to the full list of allowed and prohibited items.

Permitted items:

  • Hat, sunscreen, glasses
  • Poncho
  • Water
  • Picnic blanket
  • Small picnic and camping chair (The area closest to the stage will be reserved for blankets only no chairs)
  • Cabin-sized esky up to 30L

Prohibited items:

  • No alcohol or illegal substances
  • No large umbrellas, tents or tables
  • No glass/sharp objects, metal cutlery or weapons
  • No bean bags, large deck chairs or reclining chairs
  • No flammable or explosive items or liquids
  • No lasers, laser pointers or torches
  • No large eskies (max size 30L)
  • No drones or unmanned aircrafts 
  • No pets except for service animals, e.g. guide dogs and assistance dogs
  • No unauthorised advertising materials

It is a condition of entry for all event attendees that prohibited items are not brought into the event venue. Security will conduct bag checks upon entry into the venue. This is for the safety, security and comfort of all event attendees.

Illegal items will be confiscated

Non-illegal items that are prohibited at the event can be either removed or stored in at the main entry points. Security will provide identification tags for the items with the contact details for collection by the correct owner after the event. Please note that items left at the main entry points are left at the owner’s risk.

Accessibility

Christmas on the Coast at Raby Bay Harbour Park is wheelchair accessible.

Closed captions will be available for the Christmas movie in the park.

COVID safety

Christmas on the Coast is a COVID-safe event with a ticketed event format. This format will facilitate contact tracing and manage attendance numbers.

Tickets are essential for entry and must be pre-purchased online.

To keep attendees safe, COVID-safe measures will be implemented including QR code registration for contact tracing, additional fencing, social distancing signage, hand sanitiser stations and enhanced cleaning protocols.

When attending Christmas on the Coast please help us to stay COVID-safe by:

  • washing your hands regularly! There will be plenty of hand sanitiser stations located around the event.
  • practicing good respiratory etiquette and wear a mask if you are unable to keep distance from others
  • maintaining physical distancing – keep a 1.5m distance from others at all times including in queues
  • following instructions by the COVID-safe event monitors
  • ensuring you sign in and out of the event via the QR code to adhere to contact tracing requirements at the event
  • downloading and activating the COVID-Safe app

Please stay home if:  

  • you are feeling unwell, or displaying COVID-19 symptoms such as a fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath or other symptoms
  • you are currently being tested for COVID-19
  • you have been in recent close contact with a person who has returned a positive COVID-19 result
  • you have recently travelled overseas or to a declared hotspot in the past 14 days
