Wendy Boglary (Kendall) was raised in the country town of Beaudesert with parents who were heavily involved in church and community activities. Wendy has continued with these strong community ethics and this was her driving passion to run for Council in 2008. She was proud to be re-elected in 2012 and again in 2016, when she was appointed Deputy Mayor.
Wendy brings to Council a breadth of experience which is directly relevant to understanding the needs of her constituents, and the needs of our city. An initial career path in banking was followed by two decades of small business success in the Redlands where she ran, with her family, two successful businesses including Ormiston Foodstore.
During this time Wendy has lived within the division she now represents, and has raised her family here while being heavily involved in all the children’s activities from sporting to school.
Wendy promotes open community engagement while describing her vision as ensuring a viable balance between development and the environment to ensure our unique quality Redlands lifestyle endures.
Her goals are to encourage local employment opportunities and economic growth through non-invasive means such as tourism, while still maintaining neighbourhoods with open areas for healthy lifestyle activities and natural bushland to protect our natural assets of fauna and flora including beautiful Moreton Bay. Within her community support Wendy promotes and involves herself with the activities of organisations that foster health and wellbeing of her residents. A priority during this term of Council will be to focus on connectivity of our diverse community to strengthen the Redlands for a more sustainable future while building and protecting our local economy, environment, lifestyle and homes.
Wendy is honoured to be returning to office and after the last eight years has an even heightened sense of passion and protectiveness towards the Redlands. She will use this energy to promote Redlands and ensure our values are maintained.
