Redlands Coast Seniors Month Funding Program 2024

The Redlands Coast Seniors Month Funding Program aims to provide opportunities for older residents to connect with each other and the community by funding community-based events and activities that are culturally inclusive, intergenerational or lifestyle focused.

The program aligns with the Queensland Seniors Month 2024 theme, "Love Getting Older in Queensland". It promotes positive attitudes toward older people and aging, provides opportunities for community participation to strengthen connections, and celebrates the ongoing contributions of older Queenslanders as volunteers, workers, community leaders, carers, grandparents, and advocates.

Queensland Seniors Month will be held in October beginning on the United Nations International Day of Older Persons and including the celebration of National Grandparents Day on Sunday 27 October 2024.

Applications closed 5pm Sunday 7 July 2024

Successful funding recipients will be notified of application outcomes no later than 14 days after applications close.

Funding agreements will be emailed to successful applicants within 7 days of the notification of a successful application.

Redlands Coast Age-friendly Action Plan

Redland City Council is committed to supporting our residents to age well. The Redlands Coast Age-friendly Action Plan 2021-2026 is a five-year action plan based on the World Health Organisation's Age-friendly cities model. This plan provides a way forward for Council, the community and the Government to work together to ensure that ageing on Redlands Coast is a positive experience, and people of all ages are valued and can live active fulfilling lives.
