Alexandra Hills - PDG-80180-1 - Footpath Lighting Renewal - Valantine Road Park
Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the construction and ancillary works including the supply and installation of pathway lights and any landscaping works that may be required as a result of the works. Expected Start Date: 29/11/2021 Expected Finish Date: 18/02/2022 (weather & site conditions permitting)
Birkdale - PDG-20754-1 - Footpath – Dorsal Drive, Birkdale
Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of a concrete pathway along Dorsal Drive, turf to disturbed area and associated works. Expected Start Date: 15/11/2021 Expected Finish Date: 10/12/2021 (site & weather conditions permitting)
Birkdale - PDG-41634-1 (Precinct 4) - 2021/22 Asphalt & Associated Works-Redland Bay (PRECINCT 4 BIRKDALE/WELLINGTON POINT)
Benefits: Improved road safety for all road users, extending the life of the pavement asset and delivering a smoother and quieter surface. Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking road resurfacing and associated works within the following street:- • Creek Road (Birkdale Rd to St Andrew’s Ave) Timeline: 14 October 2021 through to 10 December 2021 7:00am to 6.00pm. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions. Should the date move further than 1 week from the above proposal an updated Notification will be issued.
Birkdale - PDG-43576, 43834, 43835, 43836 - Judy Holt Sportsfield – Carpark and Lighting Upgrade
Benefits: The benefits for this project include: • Upgrades to the lighting within the car park to meet Rate 3 lighting standards. • Increase the safety for the public and sporting clubs at night. • Expansion and formalisation of the carparks to the west and south of the cricket fields allows additional parking for the community. • New asphalt surfacing will extend the life of the existing internal roads and carparks. • Formalised pedestrian crossing point will provide safe pedestrian connectivity between the fields and carparks. Description of Works: Redland City Council’s internal construction crews and contractors will be upgrading the existing carpark and lighting at Judy Holt Multi Sportsfield facility. These works will involve the construction of new carparking areas, the installation of pedestrian lighting throughout all new and existing carparking areas and the application new asphalt surfacing and line marking.

Benefits: Improved road safety for all road users, extending the life of the pavement asset and delivering a smoother and quieter surface. Cleveland - PDG-20760-2 - Lighting – Raby Bay Harbour Park, Cleveland
Redland City Council Contractors will be will be installing uplighting under a number of trees, turf and mulch to surrounding areas, and associated works. Expected Start Date - 29/11/2021 Expected Finish Date - 10/12/2021 (weather & site conditions permitting)
Cleveland - PDG-43600-2 - Revetment Wall Stabilisation – Voyagers Court Cleveland
Benefits: The benefit of the works is to stabilise the revetment wall slope of vertical and lateral movement within Magellan Canal as identified by geotechnical investigation. Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will stabilise this section of revetment wall slope by way of installation of a series of screw piles with concrete washers. A smaller section of identified wall will also be underpinned with a piled headstock. Timeline: 15 November 2021 through to 18 February 2022, 7.00am to 5.00pm. This completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather and resultant poor site conditions. Should the date move further than 1 week from the above proposal an updated Notification will be issued.
Cleveland - PDG-44034 - Beach Street, Cleveland - Large Culvert Renewal
The benefits for this project include: • To address the scouring and erosion issue on the upstream side of the drain. • To protect the culvert from blockages and further damage including protection works to the Apron. • Increase safety of users by installing bridge balustrade on the new headwall and weld mesh fencing on the sides. Description of Works: Redland City Council internal crews and contractors will be extending of the Ø1500mm stormwater pipes and installing new concrete headwall & apron. Redland Water will be upgrading the existing Ø150mm water main and other associated works.
Cleveland - PDG-44081-1 - Footpath Upgrade – Bloomfield Street Park, Cleveland
Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of a concrete pathway connecting to the existing pathway adjoining Bloomfield Street Park, installation of bollards and associated works. Expected Start Date - 13/12/2021 Expected Finish Date - 23/12/2021 (weather & site conditions permitting)
Cleveland - PDG-44085-1 - Tennis Light & Sport Pole Renewal – Norm Price Park, Cleveland
Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of 6x light poles within tennis grounds and 2x light poles on Norm Price Park Oval, reinstating existing light fittings, removing poor conditioned light poles and associated works. Some courts will remain open during the construction period. Expected Start Date - 22/11/2021 Expected Finish Date - 07/01/2022 (weather & site conditions permitting)
Ormiston - PDG-43720-1 - Pedestrian Bridge Replacement – Hilliards Creek, Fellmonger Park, Ormiston
Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking the installation of a 3 meter wide pedestrian bridge and boardwalk; removing poor conditioned pedestrian bridge; and associated works. Expected Start Date: 22/10/2021 Expected Finish Date: 22/12/2021 (weather and site conditions permitting) Please note: This bridge will be closed for the duration of the works.
Redland Bay - PDG-20519 - New Community Group Facility – Weinam Creek Development
Redland City Council’s Construction Crews will be undertaking the construction of the new Redlands Sea Dragons facility located at 23-29 Moores Road, Redland Bay. These works will include the construction of entrance and exit roads, concrete slabs, new shed and under roof storage area, fencing and associated landscaping. Timeline: Mid December 2021 through to June 2022, (weather permitting). Working hours Monday to Friday 7.00am to 5.00pm. The completion date may change over the course of the project due to wet weather or supply chain delays.
Redland Bay - PDG-44713-1 - Pedestrian Bridge Renewal – Anita Street, Redland Bay
Redland City Council Contractors will be installing a 3 meter wide pedestrian bridge and boardwalk; removing poor conditioned pedestrian bridge; and associated works. Expected Start Date: 20/10/2021 Expected Finish Date: 22/12/2021 (weather and site conditions permitting) Please note this bridge will be closed for the duration of the works.
Redland Bay - PDG-46316 - Construct Footpath - Hamilton Street, Redland Bay (Stage 2)
The benefits for this project include: • Improve safety for pedestrians by proving a formalised pathway. • Improved stormwater drainage of the area. Description of Works: Redland City Council Internal Construction Crews and Contractors will be constructing the missing section of pathway in Hamilton Street between Pitt Street Intersection and Redland Bay Police Station (60 Hamilton Street), Redland Bay. These works will involve all works to construct a 2 meter pathway narrowing to 1.2 meters across the creek, installation of 225mm stormwater pipes with headwall to suit as well as reshaping and application of 2 coat bitumen seal to the road shoulder.
Russell Island - PDG-80920 - 21/22 - SMBI Road Upgrades – Russell Island
Benefits: The benefits for this project include: • Improve the road infrastructure network. • Reduce dust. Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking road upgrades on various streets at Macleay Island. These works will involve the placement and compactions of a gravel pavement, two coat bitumen seal and associated drainage works. The roads to be sealed are: • 80344 – Banksia Street between High Street and house 13 Banksia Street. • 80345 – Cassia Street between Banksia Street and Callistemon Street. • 80346 – Callistemon Street between Cassia Street and Dryandra Street. • 80352 – Mark Road. • 80553 – Heeterra Street.
Sheldon - PDG-41634-1 (Precinct 9) - 2021/22 Asphalt & Associated Works-Redland Bay (PRECINCT 9 SHELDON)
Benefits: Improved road safety for all road users, extending the life of the pavement asset and delivering a smoother and quieter surface. Description of Works: Redland City Council Contractors will be undertaking road resurfacing and associated works within the following street:- • Avalon Road (Campbell Rd to Ford Rd) Timeline: 11 October 2021 through to 17 December 2021 7:00am to 6.00pm. Thornlands - PDG-20743-1 - Shade Sails - William Stewart Skate Park
Redland City Council Contractors will be Constructing new shade sails, including renewal of an existing rubbish bin, turf and associated works. Expected Start Date - 24/01/2022 Expected Finish Date - 18/02/2022 (weather & site conditions permitting)
Victoria Point - PDG-43657-1 & 43901 - Park Upgrade(Stage 1) & Carpark (Stage 2) - Les Moore Park
Redland City Council contractors will be upgrading the existing playground equipment including removal of the old playground equipment and replacement with the following: Park Upgrade (Stage 1) • Removal of existing play equipment, bins, taps, BBQ, shelters, table setting, concrete slab, electrical lighting, landscaping and associated assets; Supply and installation: • Concrete footpaths, including precast headwalls and shelter, drinking fountain and bin enclosure slabs; • Landscape features including sandstone boulders, sandstone block seating walls, planting of trees, turf and synthetic turf; • Park furniture including platform seats, taps, drinking fountain with dog bowl, bins, BBQ and table settings; • Supply and installation of Dog off leash area fencing; • Play equipment including rubber steppers, rubber domes and timber steppers; • Fitness equipment, playground surfaces including rubber, mulch and sand softfall, structures including shelters, solar lighting, electrical and water services connections. Carpark (Stage 2) • Removal of existing stormwater pipes, catchpits, signage, guideposts, bollards and park gate; Supply and installation: • Concrete footpaths; new stormwater infrastructure including pipework, catchpits, headwall and swale; • New park swing gate, park sign, guideposts and bollards; road pavement parallel parking bays, including kerb and channel, line marking, signage and traffic island. Expected Start Date - 07/07/2021 Expected Finish Date - 25/02/2022 (weather and site permitting) Please note: Temporary road closure/ traffic delays A section of Wilson Esplanade fronting Les Moore Park will be closed from the 13-22 September 2021, so stormwater and drainage works can be completed as part of the parks $2 million upgrade. Detour signage will be in place to help drivers bypass the closed road. Work will not be undertaken on weekends. When workers are not on-site, one lane will be open with electronic traffic lights in place.
Victoria Point - PDG-43909 - Simon Street, Victoria Point - Relief Drainage
Benefits: The benefits of this project include: • Alleviate drainage issues and water ponding in Simon Street. • To provide a safer area for pedestrian movements. Description of Works: Redland City Council Internal Construction Crews and Contractors will be undertaking drainage relief works along Simon Street Victoria Point between houses 23 and 11. These works will involve the installation of 450mm field inlets with flat grates outside each of these properties. As part of these works all disturbed areas will be reinstated.
Victoria Point - PDG-NA - Cleveland Redland Bay Rd, Victoria Point - Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is undertaking a $110 million package of works to upgrade Cleveland-Redland Bay Road. Part of the project includes duplicating Cleveland-Redland Bay Road from Anita Street to Magnolia Parade and community consultation is currently underway.
