Waste transfer stations

⚠️ Under the State Government’s current health directive, Queenslanders should only leave their homes if absolutely necessary, for a permitted reason.

Council urges residents to avoid generating unnecessary waste and to only visit the waste transfer station if essential.

Although our waste facilities remain open, social distancing and safety requirements apply, and limitations on how many people can access the site at any one time are in place.

  • Due to these restrictions, there may be considerable delays, particularly on the weekend. This will result in delays of up to 60 minutes at peak times such as the weekend.
  • Please keep a distance of 1.5 metres from other visitors and staff.
  • No more than 2 people per unloading area.
  • No cash payments accepted. Payment via EFT or account only.
  • Find out what is non-essential waste

There are eight waste transfer stations in the Redlands:

  • Mainland: Birkdale and Redland Bay
  • Islands: Coochiemudlo, Karragarra, Lamb, Macleay, North Stradbroke  and Russell

Locations, opening hours and what is accepted at each station can be found on these pages.
