Redlands Coast Lighting of the Christmas Tree
Redland City Council will present the Redlands Coast Lighting of the Christmas Tree event at Raby Bay Harbour Park on Friday 1 December 2023 from 5pm to 8.30pm.
The free event will feature live entertainment, photos with Santa, a Christmas movie in the park and the official lighting of the Christmas tree.
The Redlands Coast Lighting of the Christmas Tree is an alcohol-free event.
After this event, the Christmas Tree will remain in Raby Bay Harbour Park until January 2024, providing an opportunity for everyone to snap photos and enjoy the festive season.

This is a free family event with no tickets required.
Program
- 5pm to 6.30pm – Free photos with Santa (placed on flickr)
- 5.25pm to 7pm – Local performances on stage by Redlands Coast Ukes, Sienna, Nicholas Russell and Olivia Weeks. Followed by the official lighting of the Redlands Coast christmas tree.
- 7pm to 8.30pm – Christmas movie in the park ‘The Santa Clause’ (G)

By car

What can I bring to Lighting of the Tree
Bring yourselves and your families of course! Chairs, blankets, picnics, food and drinks can be brought in. However, glass, metal cutlery and alcohol is not permitted. Please refer to the full list below of allowed and prohibited items.
Permitted items:
- Hat, sunscreen, glasses
- Poncho
- Small umbrellas
- Water
- Picnic rug
- Small picnic and camping chair (the front section will be designated for blankets only)
- Beach trolleys
- Eskies
- Food and drinks (non-alcoholic beverages only and no glass permitted)
Prohibited items:
- No alcohol and illegal substances
- No large Umbrellas, tents or tables
- No glass/Sharp objects, metal cutlery or weapons inc cheese knives
- No bean bags, large deck chairs or reclining chairs
- No flammable or explosive items or liquids
- No lasers, laser pointers and torches
- No drones or unmanned aircrafts
- No pets except for service animals e.g. guide dogs and assistant dogs
- No unauthorised advertising materials
- No smoking or vaping
Food and drink available
There will be a small selection of food and drink stalls at the event, and take away will be available from local restaurants and cafes at Raby Bay Harbour and Cleveland CBD.
We encourage guests to also visit Cleveland traders who will be open for late night shopping on Bloomfield Street, Cleveland until 8pm on Friday 1 December.
