The sounds of Christmas wove their way across Cleveland on Saturday 14 December as Council hosted more than 12,000 locals and visitors to celebrate the festive season at the Norm Price Park – Redland Showground for Christmas by Starlight 2019 - Redlands Coast’s largest, free family event.
This year’s cast was loaded with local talent, including Redlands Coast’s own Craig Martin, Dakota Striplin, Leah Lever, Naree Cole, Carole Williams, and Scott Muller plus a host of other performers including the Yulu-Burri-Ba dancers, ROCKIT Productions, Redland City Bands and Redland Dance.
Due to the fire and drought conditions, Council made the decision not to stage a fireworks finale and instead partnered with the Rotary Club of Cleveland to raise more than $4,500 for drought affected areas.

Christmas by Starlight has a well-deserved reputation as a first-class community event that’s up there with the best free Christmas shows anywhere…and that has a lot to do with the outstanding support that it has received over the years from the great community-spirited businesses and organisations such as these:
Council invested approximately $185,000 into planning and producing the city’s largest free concert, paying mostly local performers, providing free children’s rides, and creating an afternoon and evening for families to be together and celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
The show also provided local charities and community groups with an opportunity to raise funds through their booths and raised more than $4500 for Rotary’s Drought Relief through a collection on the night.
The cost equates to less than $1.20 per Redlands coast resident. We hope you enjoyed the show!
