We are currently upgrading a number of roads, car parks, parks, footpaths, marine works, cycle ways, and intersections across the Redlands that have been identified as improvements under our current budget.

City Operations

Alexandra Hills - Planned Burn - Between 31st July - 23rd August - Greater Glider Conservation Area, 250-354 Redland Bay Road, Alexandra Hills
Planned burn in a section of bushland within the Greater Glider Conservation Area between July - August (weather permitting). - No Road Closure. This work is planned to commence Wednesday 31 July 2019 and to be completed by Friday 23 August 2019 between the hours of 8.30am and 6.00pm (weather permitting).

Alexandra Hills - PDG-20694 - David Parr Park Alexandra Hills
Redland City Council Contractors will be installing shade sail and associated works at David Parr Park, Alexandra Hills. Works will commence 13/08/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 23/08/2019 (weather permitting).
Alexandra Hills - PDG-43237-1 - Wimborne Road Park Alexandra Hills
Redland City Council contractors will be completing park renewal works at Wimborne Road Park, Alexandra Hills. The renewal will see existing playground equipment removed and replaced with new equipment, the installation of shade sails and completion of landscaping works. Works will commence 24/07/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 05/09/2019 (weather permitting).
Birkdale - PDG-30448-5 & 44830-6 - 19/20FY Aquatic Paradise Maintenance Dredging (SP5) and Trench Capital Dredging (SP6)
Redland City Council Contractor's will be undertaking dredging in the entrance channel, lower reaches of the Wood Canal, the full extent of the Woodgate Canal and the Woodgate Canal extension and Laidlaw Canal. The movement of private vessels will be coordinated with the assistance of the Aquatic Paradise Ratepayers Association and PDG officers. Commencing 26/8/19 with completion 25/10/19 (weather permitting)
Capalaba - PDG-43553-3 - Indigiscapes Centre Extension (Stage 2) Capalaba
Redland City Council contractors will be upgrading the IndigiScapes Centre and constructing a new administration building Expected start date (on site): 10 June 2019 Expected finish date: 18 December 2019
Cleveland - PDG-42784-1 - Revetment Wall Upgrade-Mainroyal Court, Cleveland
Redland City Council contractors will upgrade the revetment wall from 21-25 Mainroyal Court, Cleveland. Contractors shall also utilise 14 Sommersea Drive, Cleveland as a laydown area allowing waterfront access. Works will commence 9/5/19 (weather permitting) with completion 9/8/19 (weather permitting)
Cleveland - PDG-43244-2 - Raby Bay Groyne Renewal-Cleveland
Redland City Council contractors will reconstruct 4 of the 9 Goynes damaged to strong wave access from previous weather events. Access to the sites 4,5 & 9 will generally be by vessel only. Groyne renewal 8 will be access via park off Masthead Drive. Commencing 21/8/19 with completion 11/10/19 (weather permitting)
Cleveland - PDG-43303-1 - Public Amenities and Associated Works, Raby Bay Boulevard Park Cleveland
Redland City Council contractors will be undertaking works to provide new and improved amenities at Raby Bay Boulevard Park, Cleveland. A new amenities block and BBQ facility will be installed near existing table settings and car park. The works will also include new concrete paths and minor landscaping. Additionally, some works will be carried out to improve the existing car park including installation of speed humps and improved accessibility. The car park will be closed for approximately one business day to complete these upgrades. Works will commence 05/08/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 01/11/2019 (weather permitting).
Cleveland - PDG-46285-2 - William Street Breakwater Extension
Redland City Council contractors will be undertaking an extension to the William Street Breakwater. Works will predominantly take place within the Redlands Boat Club. Works to commence 26/8/19 and conclude 29/11/19 (weather permitting)
Cleveland & Victoria Point - PDG-42651 - Kerb Replacement Program 19/20
Redland City Council Internal Construction Crews and Contractors will be undertaking maintenance works of the below listed street. These works will involve kerb replacement, drainage upgrades and associated works. • 42651 Princess St, Cleveland • 43761 Shore St West, Cleveland • 42652 Bunker Rd, Victoria Point
Mount Cotton - PDG-20693 - Fitness Equipment - Mount Cotton Community Park
Redland City Council Contractors will be upgrading the Mount Cotton Community Park. These works will involve the installation of multi fitness equipment, concrete edging, turf and associated works. Works will commence 26/08/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 06/09/2019 (weather permitting).
Redland Bay - PDG-40556 - Road Upgrade - Collins Street and School of Arts Road, Redland Bay
Redland City Council’s Construction Unit and Contractors will be upgrading School of Arts Road and Collins Street between Queen Street and Penzance Drive, Redland Bay. These road upgrades will involve, but not limited to; full road reconstruction and realignment, construction of concrete pathways, and traffic islands, installation of kerb and channel, line marking and signage, and the relocation of existing essential service infrastructure such as water, sewer, NBN and Telstra.
Redland Bay - PDG-42823-1 - Park Renewal - Fielding Park Redland Bay
Redland City Council contractors will be completing Park Renewal works at Fielding Park, Redland Bay. The works will include new playground equipment which will replace existing equipment. The existing shade sail will be retained and new equipment will be installed in the same area. Works will commence 13/08/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 13/09/2019 (weather permitting).
Russell Island - PDG-43548 - Footpath, Centre Road, Russell Island
Redland City Council Contractors will be upgrading the footpath on Centre Road, Russell Island between Stradbroke Drive and Glendale). These works will involve the installation of a 1.5 to 2 metre pathway, including drainage and associated works. Expected start date: 29/7/19 (weather permitting) Expected finish date: 30/8/19 (weather permitting)
Victoria Point - PDG-20691 - Shade Sail - Yeo Park Victoria Point
Redland City Council Contractors will be upgrading Yeo Park, Victoria Point. These works will involve the installation of a shade structure and associated works. Works will commence 19/08/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 30/08/2019 (weather permitting).
Victoria Point - PDG-30019-1 - Dredging Victoria Point - Southern Boat/Barge Ramp Channel
Dredging of Victoria Point Boat/Barge Ramp Channel. Works will involve a split hopper barge and a dumb barge summounted by a 50 Tonne excavator and supported by small craft undertaking vessel tendering. Environmental Monitoring and Hydrographic Surveys.
Victoria Point - PDG-40015-2 - Moreton Bay Cycleway Section 1 Victoria Point
Redland City Council contractors will be completing construction activities for Council’s Moreton Bay Cycleway (MBC) Section 1 project. Section 1 will see the installation of concrete pathways and timber boardwalks from Cameron Court to School Road, Victoria Point. Works will commence 01/07/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 01/11/2019 (weather permitting).
Victoria Point - PDG-40547 - Road and Footpath Upgrade - Bunker Road, Victoria Point
Redland City Council internal construction crews and external contractors will be constructing the first stage of the frontage treatment works outside the property at 97 Bunker Rd, Victoria Point. These works include the relocation of the front fence, gates, gardens, removal of vegetation within the new footpath area and the relocation of the existing water main onto the new alignment. Stage two will commence after other services such as power and telecommunications are relocated by the relevant service providers.
Wellington Point - PDG-20701 - Bibury Street Park, Wellington Point
Redland City Council Contractors will be installing a tap, bench seat and associated works at Bibury Street Park, Wellington Point. Works will commence 26/08/2019 (weather permitting) with completion by 06/09/2019 (weather permitting).
