It’s now more affordable to nurture your garden and keep food waste from going to landfill with Council’s new compost bin subsidy. Save up to 80% off the RRP* of Compost Revolution compost bins, worm farms or bokashi bins.

*Eligibility

Our compost bin subsidy is available to Redland City Council home-owners and renters (residents). To receive the subsidy, compost bin products must be ordered online from Compost Revolution. The subsidy is applied as a discount across various Compost Revolution products with a saving of up to 80% off the RRP (Recommended Retail Price). 

  • Limit of one (1) kit per Redland City Council household
  • All products are subject to subsidy limits on a first come, first served basis and may be subject to price changes and availability
  • Not available for businesses
  • Products must be ordered online through Council’s subsidy partner: Compost Revolution

1. How do I order my compost bin, worm farm or bokashi bin and receive my subsidy?

Your subsidy, provided by Redland City Council, is applied as a discount on the Compost Revolution product of your choice – go to Compost Revolution to order. Please note, Council will not provide a rebate for products purchased from other suppliers.

2. How much money do I save?

Compost Revolution products are available to homeowners and renters with up to 80% off the RRP*. Check out the range of products and discounts available at Compost Revolution.

3. How do I know what compost bin program is right for me?

We would encourage residents to take the Compost Revolution online tutorial  to understand the different products that are available and to work out the right product for you. Please refer to the Compost Revolution guide on Choosing a Composting System.

4. When will my product be delivered?

Most deliveries will take place within 1-2 weeks, however, please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery. For any questions about delivery, please contact Compost Revolution.

5. If there is a problem with my delivery, who should I contact?

6. How do I set up my home composting system?

7. I’m having some problems with managing the compost bin, worm farm or bokashi bin I purchased.

8. Can I put my food waste in my Council green waste bin?

Council’s garden organics bin only accept organic material from gardens such as lawn clippings, palm fronds and hedge trimmings. The organic composting facility where the garden composting is taken to doesn’t accept food waste material.

9. Who do I contact if I have a question about the compost product I purchased?

10. To get the discount, do I have to use Compost Revolution?

Yes. Council has partnered with Compost Revolution to manage the compost bin subsidy program which includes training, provision of products, distribution and post purchase support. Council will not provide a rebate for any products purchased from other suppliers.

11. Who are Compost Revolution and why did Council chose to work with them?

Compost Revolution works with councils across Australia to offer discounted composting products to local communities. They started as a community initiative of local councils looking to reduce the negative environmental and economic impacts of sending residential waste to landfills. Council chose to work with Compost Revolution as their platform provides training, education and an integrated ordering system which allows you to seamlessly order the most suitable composting product for your household and have it delivered straight to your door.
