Joint winner 'Local Government Award': for Community Champions Program. Went on to be selected as a finalist in the Resilient Australia National Local Government Award where the program received a National Highly Commended Award.

Museums Australia Publication Design Awards 2018

Redland Art Gallery 2019 Exhibitions and Events booklet was Museums Australia Publication Design Awards (MAPDA) 2018 winnert for small exhibition catalogue category. Our bootlet was deemed as "Beautifully considered choice of paper stock and sympathetic colour palette."

2017

Local Government Mutual (LGM) Liability Risk Management Excellence Award 2017

Council was acknowledged for our continued support and commitment to Local Government Mutual, and our investment in improved risk management systems and practices.

2016

Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation Awards 2016

Council was awarded the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation Awards (QORF) for our Enhancing the Visitor Experience Program and the popular Redlands Track Park. The QORF awards celebrate excellence in outdoor recreation and the win shone the spotlight on the work Council and the community do to promote and enhance our outdoor recreation areas.

2015

Resilient Australia Award 2015

Council won the Resilient Australia Award for our online interactive Redland City Disaster Management Plan, an Australian-first suburb-by-suburb disaster plan.

2014

Commendation for Excellence in Public Engagement and Community Planning 2014

The commendation for Excellence in Public Engagement and Community Planning recognised the efforts of Council and Economic Development Queensland in communicating the plans for the billion-dollar waterfront precinct projects to the community.  

Urban Development Institute of Australia Wildcard state awards 2014

The Priority Development Area projects were also winners of a second major accolade at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Wildcard state awards for innovative projects that contribute to the environment and community.

Local Government Managers Australia Award for Excellence, Teamwork 2014

Excellence in Teamwork celebrated a team whose efforts have ensured that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. 

Redlands IndigiScapes – Silver Winner, Excellence in Food Tourism, Queensland Tourism Awards 2014

2013

Healthy Waterways Award 2013

Council competed against five other finalists from across South East Queensland to win the award, which recognises projects that demonstrate best practice sustainable water management and environmental practices.

2012

Environmental Innovation and Protection Award 2012

The Redlands were awarded the Environmental Innovation and Protection award for 2012 at the Keep Australia Beautiful, National Sustainable Cities Awards.

Local Government Award for Tourism 2012

Redland City Council's support for the local tourism industry was recognised, with Council winning the inaugural Local Government Award for Tourism [PDF 145kB] at the Queensland Tourism Awards.

Queensland's Most Sustainable City 2012

The Redlands were named Queensland's Most Sustainable City for 2012 [PDF 83kB] for the second time in three years by Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland.

Best Planning Ideas 2012

2011

National Fleet Safety Award 2011

Redland City Council's vehicle fleet operations have won the prestigious National Fleet Safety award following a major overhaul of its fleet operations and safety in recent years. Read the media release [PDF 52kB].

Queensland Sustainable Cities Award 2011

Redland City Council won three categories in Queensland Sustainable Cities Awards for 2011 by Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland: Litter Prevention, Environmental Innovation and Protection, Water Conservation.

Redland City Council were recognised as Queensland's Most Sustainable City 2010 by Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland.
