Mark Edwards has an association with the Redlands spanning nearly 40 years when his parents retired to Wellington Point in 1974. Mark attended Cleveland State High School, then the only high school in the then Shire. His first full time employment commenced in Banking at a Cleveland branch, a career which spanned 20 years and saw Mark climb through the ranks through various accountancy and manager positions in the Bank and culminate in a regional management position in Brisbane.
Mark and his wife, a born and bred Cleveland girl whose father Frank Bradley was a three term Councillor, decided that the days of transfer every two years were over. Mark engaged in a number of business activities outside banking, primarily in tourism and small scale residential property development.
Understanding financial management and the needs of business, provides Mark with the skill sets suited for his role as Councillor. With a focus on delivering value driven outcomes for the community and understanding the needs of small business, Mark is determined to enhance the value of Council for the residents of Division 5 and the whole of the city.
Mark encourages residents of Redland Bay and the Bay Islands to contact him to discuss any concerns they may have.
“I am here to make a difference and to help the community in any way I can,” says Mark.
