Redlands Coast Candle Lighting Vigil

In Australia at least one woman is killed every week by an intimate partner. Often children and men are also the victims of these homicides. Redland City Council strongly supports Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month that is held each May is Queensland to raise community awareness of domestic and family violence.

On the first Wednesday in May each year, Redlands Coast joins the nation at a candle lighting vigil to remember and pay respect to those who have tragically lost their lives because of acts of domestic and family violence. The Redlands Coast Candle Lighting Vigil is presented by Council, together with the Centre for Women & Co and the Red Rose Foundation.
