History of the park

The Queensland Moto Park is the first facility of its kind in Australia. The park was opened to the public in December 2011 after the Council of Mayors (SEQ) recognised that a dedicated trail bike facility would protect the environment and reduce trail bike-related deaths and injuries.

Redlands recognised this need and contributed substantially to developing this facility and helping meet the needs of trail bike riders.

Previously, in 2008, there were more than 230,000 trail bike riders in South East Queensland. Due to lack of regulated trail riding sites and locations, many riders were riding in national parks and Council reserves - damaging the bush and the reputation of riders across the state.

Since the park opened, hundreds of thousands of people from across the country and around the world have visited. The park continues to save the environment and lives.

Note: It is unlawful to ride trail bikes or other motorised vehicles in all Redland Council conservation reserves.
