If you own a pool or if you are thinking of constructing one, there are some important aspects to consider.

Drowning is the leading cause of death in Queensland for children aged one to four years. Supervising kids and teaching them to swim at a young age can save lives. Effective pool fencing also helps keep kids safe.

To help with this, the state government introduced new pool safety laws, which commenced in 2010. These laws affect owners of new and existing pools.
