Indigi Day Out promises to be a weekend packed with fun and varied activities, incorporating Folk Redlands Festival of Music. There will be workshops, displays, walks and talks, arts and crafts, face painting and native plant sales at this weekend celebration. This year will also feature local magician Xavier, a free supervised rock climbing wall and delicious food.

This is a motorsport event held at the MG Car Club of Qld's Mt Cotton circuit, Gramzow Rd, Mt Cotton. it is the major event of the year and attracts the top competitors in this type of motorsport from interstate.

Women's Vocal Workshop

An intensive one day Vocal Workshop for women who love to sing, conducted by Susan Lansdown, the Director of Redland Rhapsody Chorus. Receive a learning CD and sheet music (you don't have to be able to read music) for two songs to be rehearsed on the day. Invite your family and friends to see you perform the songs with Redland Rhapsody Chorus members at a short concert from 4.00pm to 4.30pm. It's a really fun day and very popular, bookings are essential.

Get on your “Soapbox - loud and clear @ the Plaza”

On the afternoon of Sunday 21 June, the Redland Youth Plaza at Capalaba will come alive with non-stop music and a massive line-up of entertainment including local DJ Walrii from Dank Morass, performers and cultural activities. The diverse music line-up features an eclectic mix of metal, rock and pop including hot upcoming local bands The Ride, Forget Not the Silenced and In Spite of Life.

For those who want to write, sing, produce a song or get something off their chest, there will be video blogging, vox pops, creative writing, song making and graphic postcard art. The event is designed to ensure that teenagers and young adults have a say in what kind of future will be created in the Redlands in the next 20 years.

Free Family Fun Day - Redland City Church

Redland City Church is celebrating its new name with a Family Fun Day on Sunday 21 June. After the church service, the festivities begin at 10.30am until 1.00pm including a free BBQ, jumping castle, face painting, games, prizes, sideshow alley, Sumo Suits and Tug of War. Redland City Church (formerly Redlands Fellowship Community Church) has changed its name to suit the recent naming of Redland City. All are welcome to join in the family church service at 9.00am, which includes a dynamic children’s program.

Broken Links the Stolen Generations in Queensland Exhibition

Where: Capalaba Library
Date:   22 June – 15 July 2009

This exhibition marks the passing of a decade since the publication of Bringing them home, the Report of Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission’s National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from Their Families.

The exhibition includes five personal stories of Aboriginal people who were removed from their families between 1930 and 1973.

The Metropolitan South Area Crime Stoppers Area Committee is inviting Hole Sponsorships and Player Registrations for the 4 Ball Ambrose Crime Stoppers 2009 Golf Challenge to be played at the award winning Pacific Golf Course Carindale.

Network with fun whilst generating funds to help promote awareness of Crime Stoppers and contribute to rewards. The Metropolitan South Region encompasses the area on the Redlands side of the Brisbane River and across to Logan. Crime Stoppers operates as a volunteer based not-for-profit group which works in partnership with the Queensland Police Service, the media, and our community.

SMBI Floating Pictures Bay Views world premiere and Art Fair

The Floating Pictures Bay Views world premiere and art fair will be held on Karragarra Island on Saturday 27 June. The festival will showcase films made by and about people of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. The films will be screened onboard the Bay Islands Transit vessel MV Canaipa. this includes animated film 'It Never Did Sink' which was was screened at the International Short Film Festival: Oberhausen in Germany. On the beach, an exhibition of artworks in sculpture, painting, jewellery, woodwork, leadlight, ceramics, mosaics and photography, while acclaimed musician Colin Offord conducts workshops and demonstrations of his unique finely crafted musical instruments. Other activities include action painting, silk ribbon making, raft building, origami and a wishing tree. Local community organisations will supply refreshments.

10am to 3pm. Ferry services to the island leave from Redland Bay. Movie tickets are free and can be collected on the day from the ticket box on Karragarra jetty. Bring a picnic rug and enjoy the hospitality of this beautiful island retreat.

The program, for four to 16 year olds, has a huge range of free or low-cost activities including a family movie screening, simple machine workshops by CSIRO, environmentally-themed excursions, story telling and Fun in the Parks activities.
