Bushcare Community Plantings
The Bushcare program facilitates a number of community plantings throughout the year at different locations throughout the city. These plantings aim to raise environmental awareness, reduce environmental weeds and increase wildlife habitat. You can get involved by volunteering your time to plant native species. Mobile Phone Collection
Birkdale Scout Group has joined with Aussie Recycling Program to collect old mobile phones to be recycled. Your donation will raise funds for Birkdale Scouts as well as keep toxic waste out of our beautiful environment. Over 100 stalls to choose from, this is a market with a difference. You won’t just find the same ol' stuff!

Kids Bending Rods
Learn the basics of shore based fishing with 2 Bent Rods - for ages 4 and above.
Children will learn to catch bait with a bait net & yabby pump, tie knots, bait hooks, cast a rod & more. Each participant will receive an info bag with fishing rules, regulations, magazine & more. Prizes to be won on the day. All fishing equipment is supplied.
Children need to wear shoes & clothing suitable for getting wet. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, drink & snack if required. Costs $45. Bookings are essential.

Folk Redlands Concert with feature artist "Jeremiah"
Enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon spent chilling with some laidback Celtic, Anglo and Australian folk music from local and imported artists.
The Folk Redlands Acoustic Music Club holds afternoon concerts 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of the month. We invite anyone with a folk/acoustic musical talent to put their name down on the blackboard and play for 20mins between 2pm- 4pm. At 4pm, we feature our headline artist(s) who are typically well known artist(s) from the Folk/Acoustic music fraternity and is a paid act.
All these events have free admission.

Australia Day Plant Giveaway
Celebrate Australia Day 2009 by coming along to IndigiScapes and collecting up to three free native plant seedlings (while stocks last). Choose from the wide range of Australian native plants that will help attract local wildlife to your backyard.
Make a day of it! Spend a day walking through our display gardens and nature trails, or having a scrumptious lunch at the Tea Garden café.

Australia Day Rally
Organised by the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club, the event starts at 7am at Ormiston State School where 500 vintage and classic vehicles will be displayed while drivers and families/crew are served breakfast.
The vehicles depart on different routes around the Redlands at 9.30am. Members of all Vintage, Historic and Classic vehicle clubs in South-east Queensland are invited to attend this free rally. Last year, 503 vehicles participated with 950 free breakfasts served.

Join us for dinner and a play 'On Our Selection'
Theatre Genesis presents 'On Our Selection' based on the Steele Rudd stories of Dad and Dave. The producer is local thespian Terry Annesley, who last year presented the play 'Reedy River' on five separate evenings to sell-out audiences at the Redland Museum.
Weather permitting, the open air performances will be staged around the Blacksmith shop and dinner will be served during the performance.
