Introduction of metered standpipes

Anyone wanting to draw water from a water main is required to use a metered hydrant standpipe issued by Redland Water & Waste.

These standpipes can be used by people requiring large quantities of water such as water carriers, major contractors, construction industry and property developers, as well as small users, such as road cutters, landscapers and pool installers.

A hire charge based on the duration of the required water use and refundable security deposit is required. It is an offence to use any other standpipe or apparatus to take water from a water main hydrant.
