Installation

We are experiencing drought and as such, Level Two water restrictions are in place.

Use of urban irrigation systems are not permitted during this time.

Installing an urban irrigation system requires Council approval and a fee applies.

Any type of system is allowed whether store-bought or made by the home handyman. 

Inspections And Maintenance

Council must inspect your backflow prevention device.

Some backflow prevention devices need annual testing and maintenance.

Council will notify the owner of the irrigation system if annual registration and testing is required.

The requirements for the installation and testing of backflow prevention devices are laid down in Australian Standard A.S. - 3500 Part 1.
