Recycled water for industry

Redland City Council is expanding its recycled water filling service to commercial water carriers.

Using this water resource for industry is another great way to reduce demand on Redlands’ potable water supply.

Recycled water is wastewater treated to stringent environmental and health guidelines.

Recycled water is currently used for a range of non-drinking purposes including:

• development activities (dust suppression, earthworks, road and service construction, landscaping, slope stabilisation or erosion control) 
• irrigating open spaces such as parks and golf courses 
• irrigating pasture and fodder crops for dairy and animals 
• industrial purposes (but not food processing).
