Bin collection

Type of collection container

All of Redland's households have a waste and recycling collection service provided by Council.

Most residents use a waste (green topped) wheelie bin and a recycle (yellow topped) wheelie bin.

Those without a wheelie bin service, such as some residents in unit complexes, are supplied with an industrial waste bin, accompanied by recycle wheelie bins.

Servicing frequency

Waste bins every week on the day specified by Council
Recycle bins every fortnight on the same day as the waste bin
Industrial bins as agreed by Council and the Body Corporate of the unit complex

For a free recycling calendar, contact Redland Water & Waste.

Always place your wheelie bins out for collection the night before your service day. Council guarantees service on your collection day, but collection times may differ. Service times can vary due to roadworks, vehicle breakdowns or additional bins on the route.

Your waste and recycling collection service is a 365 days per year service. That means, your bin will be emptied even if your service day falls on public holidays (including Good Friday and Christmas Day).

Charges

The annual charge for your waste and recycling collection service is included on the property owners rates notice.

For an industrial waste bin, charges are normally included on the body corporate’s rate notice.

Charges for a waste and recycling collection service cover the cost of collection, disposal of waste and the processing of recyclables.
