An evening with Treyci Maynard

6pm - Powhiri (Maori traditional, ceremonial welcome) 7pm - Entertainment by Treyci’s Kapa Haka group TURANGA AKE and Treyci’s first cousins KAHA.
Treyci Maynard is an author, teacher, Kapa Haka tutor and sportswoman. She is of Maori descent from Gisborne, New Zealand and has recently compiled a collection of personal writings inspired by others. She presents her first book, A closer walk. A closer walk draws you into her cultural background and upbringing. Preserving Maori culture and whanau (family) is the energising force which drives Treyci to help others reach their full potential. Her thoughts within are based around the uniqueness of the Maori culture, the feeling of being at home, the beauty of family and the art of being ultimately grateful. Friendships, love, loneliness, trust, hurt; betrayal, intimacy and hope are just some of life’s paved journeys. “This is my journey”

Lifeline budgeting workshop

Gerry Messingham from Lifeline will be talking about budgeting and how it can help you take control of your priorities and goals. He will also talk about debt and the strategies and options available when unexpected challenges make it difficult to satisfy financial obligations, for example, the temporary loss of income from health or redundancy.
