If your pet is currently being held at the Animal Shelter, please call between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday, or Saturday from 9am to 12pm on 3829 8663, quoting the reference number shown.

Dogs are kept at the Animal Shelter for a minimum period of 3 days. Council Officer's will make every effort to find the owner of the dog and arrange for the owner to collect the dog from the shelter.

While every effort is made to keep the information on this site up to date, there may be times when the information is not accurate.

When you collect your pet from the Animal Shelter, you will be required to pay a release fee and any additional fees to cover the time your pet has spent in the shelter. You will also be required to register your dog if not already registered. You can contact the Animal Shelter to determine what fees are applicable on 3829 8663.

You can also email us at the Animal Shelter or by phoning 3829 8663 to place your details on Council's lost and found register. 

You should also contact the RSPCA on 1300 363 736 and your local vet to check if anyone has handed in your pet.
