Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)

RADF is a partnership program with Arts Queensland that supports art in the Redlands. Program details, guidelines and application forms are available at RADF Grants.

Community Grants Program

  • Round 1 is now closed.
  • Applications for Round 2 will open on 25 January 2010.
  • Applications under the Mayor’s Small Grants are open continuously throughout the year.

If you are part of a not-for-profit organisation, sponsored by an incorporated not-for-profit organisation or are looking for individual, community group or community organisation funding, then Council’s new grants program may be for you.

Council has improved and simplified its grants process to ensure a more beneficial and fair distribution of resources across the Redlands community. The new process will come into effect for the 2009/2010 financial year (as of 1 July 2009).


Categories

Council’s community grants are available across six categories:

  • sport and recreation
  • community development
  • arts and cultural heritage
  • festivals and events
  • enterprise development
  • environment.

Funding available under the new program

Mayor’s small grants
*up to $500

Total pool of $50,000
Providing assistance to groups for unexpected costs or small amounts of assistance; as well as supporting individual excellence; and providing assistance in grants application writing.   Open continuously from 1 July 2009. 
 
Organisational support grants
*up to $3,000

Total pool of $90,000  
To support the management, administration and planning costs of community organisations. 
 
Key funding rounds in the 2009/2010 financial year:

Round 1:
27 July 2009 - 19 September 2009.

Round 2:
25 January 2010 - 19 March 2010. 
 
 
 
Project support grants
*up to $10,000

Total pool of $200,000
For organisations to provide specific projects or activities that deliver long-term positive outcomes to the community. 
 
Capital infrastructure support grants
*up to $75,000

Total pool of $250,000  
For organisations to build, renovate or refurbish facilities, including hard-wired technology upgrades. 
 


The existing Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grants program is a partnership program with Arts Queensland that supports art in the Redlands. The RADF grants program will continue to operate as usual.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for grant funding, applicants must be a not-for profit incorporated organisation or be sponsored by a not-for-profit organisation that is incorporated and be able to accept legal and financial responsibility for the project or activity. Successful applications will provide benefits to the residents of Redland City.

Please note, individuals are only eligible to apply in the Mayor’s Small Grants category. Educational institutions are ineligible for grants funding. Parents and Citizens Associations are eligible to apply if they can demonstrate wider community benefit. Further terms and conditions apply.

Applications for the Mayor’s Small Grant category are welcome from 1 July 2009. Groups who have already applied to the Mayor’s Benefit Fund will be contacted regarding interim arrangements.

Register your interest by phoning 3829 8911 and Council will send you an application kit, that includes grant application forms. The application kits will also be available online from 1 July 2009.
