Swimming pools

There are three public pools in the Redlands, offering a great range of activities like Learn to Swim classes (for people of any age), squad training and aqua aerobics classes. They're also a great place to beat the heat.

Cleveland Aquatic Centre

222 Russell Street, Cleveland

The centre has:

• Main building – change rooms, toilets, kiosk, gym (no equipment), entry foyer, office and storage rooms 
• Three plant rooms 
• heated outdoor 50m pool – up to 2m deep, eight lanes, fixed blocks at both ends and adjacent covered grandstand 
• heated 25m outdoor pool – 1.2m deep, four lanes and disabled access ramp 
• heated indoor 20m pool up to 1.2m deep with ledge for Learn to Swim classes. 
• heated outdoor (shaded) Adventure playground pool (September to April) – free form with beach entry and with two small slides and water play equipment 
• heated outdoor (shaded) toddlers pool, free form with beach entry 
• unheated outdoor Rapid River Ride 
• heated outdoor spa (eight persons)

Redlands YMCA Pool

The centre has:

• one 25 metre pool (8 lanes)
• one heated 12 metre pool

Russell Island Pool

The centre has:

• six-lane 25 metre pool
• change rooms
• kiosk
• shaded children's wading and play pools
• solar heated to 27 degrees

Due to the cold weather, the pool is closed from the last Sunday of the 1st term of school holidays (April) and re-opens on the 1st Saturday of school holidays in September.
