Community safety
Let’s keep the Redlands a safe place to live, work and play!
Council wants to ensure that residents and visitors enjoy a high quality of life, free from fear of crime. Council’s Community Safety Program identifies and responds to issues of crime, safety and anti-social behaviour within the Redlands.
Local crime trends are identified through consultation with police and local residents. The Community Safety Officer undertakes policy and project development to address crime-related issues.
Current projects and priorities include:
- Graffiti and vandalism reduction
- Sharps management
- Public facility security improvement
- Car theft prevention
- Fear of crime reduction.
Council is working to ensure new developments are safe and secure. Existing areas are being upgraded to minimise opportunities for crime and anti-social behaviour.
Safety and security advice is also provided to local residents via seminars and information sheets. Download a copy of the Council’s Community Safety Fact Sheet.
