Southern Moreton Bay Islands Integrated Local Transport Plan
A new transport plan for the Southern Moreton Bay Islands
The need for improved transport infrastructure and services has been a long-standing issue for residents of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.
Throughout 2010-11 Redland City Council has been working with the community to develop a new Integrated Local Transport Plan that would identify current and future access needs for the islands.
In addition, Council commissioned:
- an independent social and economic impact study on a proposed 25c/hour parking charge at the Weinam Creek car park, Redland Bay
- an in-depth travel mobility study (travel survey) of SMBI resident travel patterns
- a Southern Moreton Bay Islands Water Transport Alternative Route Study, primarily investigating alternative barge routes
Final Plan approved
Council adopted the 2011 Southern Moreton Bay Islands Integrated Local Transport Plan (SMBI ILTP) on the 30 November 2011.
