Redlands Transport Plan 2016

The Redlands Transport Plan 2016 or Transport 2016, is a 15-year integrated transport strategy developing sustainable transport systems in the Redlands.
It shapes the local transport system to better meet current and future transport needs within the area. Its focus is consistent with regional objectives set out in the Integrated Regional Transport Plan (IRTP) for south-east Queensland.
Transport 2016 identifies practical initiatives and integrates local transport and land use planning to:
reduce car dependency including reducing the length and number of vehicle trips
increase the use of public transport, walking and cycling (see the
Redlands Cycling and Pedestrian Strategy) and support the provision of facilities associated with public travel
provide efficient traffic and freight networks, supporting economic and business development.
Two groups were created to steer and oversee the plan's implementation. Read more about the Redlands transport groups >>
A critical aspect of the Transport 2016 is integration. Fixing only one part of the urban system such as roads, simply transfers the problem elsewhere.
Transport 2016 focuses on the holistic vision for sustainable transport. It is about seeking transport solutions within and beyond the current transport system.
