Planning and Development Online
As part of the fastest growing region in Australia, Council is committed to planning for the Redland’s future growth in a managed and ecological sustainable manner.
Strategic Planning puts in place long-term strategies and actions that will enhance our coastal, hinterland and island communities together with maintaining the environmental, landscape, lifestyle and other values that contribute to the quality of life revered by the Redlands residents.
Such long-term planning provides strategies for balanced growth in a future settlement pattern for the Redlands that consolidates urban development in a compact form premised on the limits of the urban footprint defined under the SEQ Regional Plan 2005-2026.
Future development in the Redlands will be managed through the Integrated Development Approval Systems (IDAS) set out in the Integrated Planning Act (IPA).
Council as the Assessment Manager for most new developments, evaluates the satisfactory performance of development proposal against the outcomes of criteria defined in the Redland’s planning instruments, essentially the Redlands Planning Scheme. Access to a range of documents including the Redlands Planning Scheme, planning scheme policies, application and approval processes and procedures, fact sheets, user guides, forms, fees and publications is available through the Development and Building links.
