Eprapah Catchment Crawl

Free educational tour
Immerse yourself in your local waterway. Book in for our free bus tour and find out more about Eprapah Creek, a precious local asset rich in cultural and natural heritage.

Seniors - are you ready for an emergency?

Disasters can strike at any time, so for peace of mind, come along to the Emergency Household Preparedness for Seniors Day.
When: 9am - 12.30pm, Friday 4 December
Where: Victoria Point Community Hall, 325 Colburn Avenue

You can start to fill out your household emergency plan at a workshop facilitated by Australian Red Cross, see emergency services displays and demonstrations and pick up storm and fire safety information. Morning tea will be provided.

2010 Australia Day Awards

Redland City Council is once again calling for nominations for the annual Australia Day Awards. These awards recognise high achieving members of our community who have made outstanding contributions in 2009.
Get an official nomination form. Nominations close Friday 11 December 2009.

Christmas by Starlight with Ricki-Lee

When: 3pm, Saturday 12 December
Where: Norm Price Park - Redland Showground - Cleveland
With Australian Idol host and singer Ricki-Lee Coulter as the headline act and lots of great local entertainment, Christmas by Starlight will have something for everyone. Food stalls, activities and live entertainment start at 3pm. The Boogie Woogies Superhero Band will perform a special Christmas concert for the kids at 5.30pm followed by a traditional carols concert at 6pm. Free Household Hazardous Waste Surrender Day

When: 9am - 1pm, Sunday 22 November
Where: Norm Price Park - Redland Showground, Cnr Long and Smith Streets, Cleveland (access via Long Street only)
Clear out old or unwanted hazardous material from your home ready for Council‘s next free Household Hazardous Waste Surrender Day. Residents are invited to take up to five litres/kilograms of each accepted waste type, but please don’t bring general waste as the Surrender Day is not held at a waste transfer station. Proof of residency is required and all material and liquid must be brought to the site clearly labelled in secure containers. Trial dog off-leash area

Manning Esplanade, Thornlands
A dog trial area will be fully operational with fencing, signage, bin and a dog bag dispenser from 16 November 2009 to 15 February 2010 on the Manning Esplanade in Thornlands. Council is seeking feedback on the trial.

Have your say on Norm Price Park - Redland Showground

Council is currently reviewing the master plan adopted in 2005 for the showgrounds. The review will also form the basis of a new land management plan for the site.

Water meter readings

Water meter readings will be taken from 20 November to 11 December. Please ensure your meter is easily accessible, visible and clear of sharp plants. For water consumption costs, water saving tips or more information please 1300 015 561.

Redlands Wildlife Photographic Competition

Capture Redlands wildlife on camera and enter the Redlands Wildlife Photographic Competition to win great cash prizes. The best photographs from each category will win $100; $200 will go to the best junior photograph and best overall photo will win $500.
Entries close Monday 30 November. Photos will be judged Friday 4 December and exhibited at IndigiScapes from 1 to 18 December. To enter, pick up a form from IndigiScapes or Redland libraries. For more information 3824 8611.
