National Tree Day

Biggest 2008 tree planting
Help us celebrate National Tree Day by joining our biggest tree planting for 2008. This year we are going to plant 5,000 plants in one day to widen the vegetation corridor along Hilliards Creek. We’ll need many hands to help!
When: Sunday 27 July 9am-1pm
Where: opposite Hilliards Park Drive, Wellington Point
BYO: closed-in shoes, hat and water
We will provide all the tools and gloves and a free BBQ for all participants.
The best parking options are off Sturgeon Street, near the creek (UBD 185 G10). See you there!

Wellington Point Reserve

A parking reminder
To ensure you get the most from your trip to Wellington Point, residents and visitors are reminded to follow the clearly marked parking instructions.

Local Laws Officers and Police enforce parking regulations at the Wellington Point Reserve to improve the road safety for pedestrians and vehicles, ensuring parking is available for park users.

Restrictions include (but are not limited to) only parking in marked bays and parking signage for disability parking, vehicles with boat trailers, no stopping, no parking and bus and taxi zones.

Penalty infringement notices will be issued to illegally-parked vehicles.

Recycling tips

Don’t place recyclables in plastic bags. Use a tub or basket to transport recyclables from your kitchen to your recycling bin.

You don’t need to peel labels off as they are removed during the recycling process.

Plastic bottles and plastic lids can be recycled. Just ensure the lids are separated from the bottles before recycling them.

To conserve water, you don’t need to rinse items before placing them in a dishwasher. Just ensure they are clean of food scraps.
