Waste incentive scheme
Downsize your bin to save, or get a refund on your green waste
Redland City Council is seeking to reward residents who minimise waste by initiating a trial incentive scheme.
Incentives
These incentives are:
Downsize waste bin to 140L
A $32 discount off the bin establishment fee of $60, you only pay $28 to downsize from a 240L waste bin to a 140L waste bin and save $52 (mainland) or $55 (islands) on the annual waste and recycling charge costs, if applied for by 31 October 2010. From 1 November 2010 a pro rata reduction in the waste and recycling charge will be applied.
OR
Refund for clean separated green waste
A $16 refund off the gate fee for clean separated green waste, this equates to:
- 4 free tipping loads in a car or station wagon; *
- 2 free tipping loads in a utility, van or car with trailer; or *
- 1 free tipping load in a utility and trailer or van and trailer. *
* (From 1 July 2010 if you need to tip any clean separated green waste, please retain your receipt, refunds can only be given if valid receipts are attached to the completed Survey).
