Council's Redland Water delivers local water and wastewater distribution and retail services; the State Government owns and operates the bores, dams and reservoirs and we must buy water from them to pass on to you.
When will I receive my first Redland Water Summary?
You will receive your first Redland Water Summary with your July 2012 Council rates notice.
How often will you read my water meter?
Your water meter will be read every quarter.
What happens if I have a leak or plumbing issue?
It is important to fix leaks or plumbing issues quickly. If there is a leak on the footpath or road, phone Council on 3829 8999. If you think you may have a leak on your property, you should call a licensed plumber.
If there is a leaking water main or wastewater overflow do I call Council?
Yes. Please phone Council on 3829 8999.
Will I still receive my pensioner subsidy from State Government from 1 July 2012?
Yes, under current State Government policy you will continue to receive your subsidy.
If I am renting do I now have to pay for water?
As a tenant you will receive a water advice which provides information on your water usage. Your lease agreement will specify any obligations you have to pay for water consumption at your residence. For further information contact the Residential Tenancies Authority (www.rta.qld.gov.au
Are there currently any water restrictions?
No. The Acting Queensland Government Minister for Water Supply has announced an end to water restrictions in South East Queensland from 1 January 2013. For further information, you can read the Minister's media statement
