Event: Clean Up Australia DayDate: First Sunday in March each year
Summary: Clean Up Australia Day takes place every year on the first Sunday of March. From Perth to Penrith, hundreds of thousands of Australians get stuck in and Clean Up their local environment by collecting and removing rubbish on Clean Up Australia Day.

Event: Earth Hour Community DinnerDate: 26 March 2011 to 26 March 2011, 7pm
Summary: Come to Redlands IndigiScapes Centre, 17 Runnymede Rd Capalaba and enjoy a three course dinner featuring fresh local foods prepared without electricity! Date: 22 May each year
Summary: The United Nations proclaimed May 22 The International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues.

Event: National Tree DayDate: Sunday 31 July 2011
Summary: National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day combine to make Australia's biggest community tree-planting event. Co-ordinated by Planet Ark, these are special days for all Australians to help out by planting and caring for native trees and shrubs to improve the environment in which they live.

Event: National Recycling Week: Date: Second week in November each year
Summary: Founded by Planet Ark in 1996, National Recycling Week aims to improve the environmental benefits of kerbside, industrial and community recycling programs. Key campaign activities include:
1. Promoting community re-use and recycling initiatives, particularly through promotion of council, school and workplace-based Swap Parties as part of the Big Aussie Swap.
2. Increasing the number of businesses and workplaces involved in recycling, principally through the promotion of the Friday File Fling.
3. Improving the understanding of kerbside recycling, principally through an educative Recycle Right Quiz hosted on RecyclingWeek.PlanetArk.org
4. NRW 2010 also aims to increase access to accurate recycling information through the RecyclingNearYou Website and Hotline (1300 733 712).
5. Getting the Battery Buzz this National Recycling Week means individuals and businesses can find local recycling options for their used batteries as well as info on why making the switch to rechargeable batteries is good for the environment and the wallet.
