Wildlife

The Redlands is well recognised as one of the most biologically diverse areas of Queensland with an abundance of sub-tropical plants and animals. The wildlife habitats are diverse - ranging from tall eucalypt forest, to fresh and saltwater wetlands and island ecosystems. It is home to many immediately recognisable animals such as koalas, migratory shorebirds and flying foxes. However, it also has over 1,700 other recorded native species of plants and animals, many of which are now under threat. Protection and conservation management is required immediately.

If you find any sick or injured wildlife, please contact the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, Daisy Hill Koala Centre on ph 3299 1032. The 24-hour Redlands Wildlife Rescue is ph 3833 4031.
