Koalas

The Redlands is home to one of the largest koala populations in Australia.

It has been estimated that there are approximately 4000 koalas living in  the Redlands, on both the mainland and North Stradbroke Island. The Redland's koala population is recognised as being significant due to the number of koalas that live within our urban environment. There is no where else in the world where so many people consistently interact with a natural population of koalas.

Redland City Council, along with the community, is working hard to help conserve and manage the natural population of koalas in the Redlands.
