Environmental protection

While managing strong population growth, Council's Corporate Plan has strategic priorities which will enhance our natural environment in balance with each area's physical character.

Council policies and operating guidelines include many mechanisms to safeguard the environment.

These range from the Environment Charge, used to buy environmentally sensitive land under threat of development, to Local Laws designed to protect our land, air and sea.
