Division 3 Cleveland South/Thornlands

Councillor Debra Henry

Debra was born in Brisbane and lived in SEQ, before moving to Redland City with her family in 1982. She resides with her husband Frank in the family home built at Thornlands in 1989. Her three adult children, son-in-law and two grandchildren also live in the Redlands.

Debra has a background in tourism, hospitality and small business management. She has had extensive interactions with Neighbourhood Watch and the Wildlife Preservation Society.

In addition she has been involved in environmental and community education; and has participated in many community-council consultation processes. Debra is one of 15,000 persons Australia-wide to be awarded a Centenary Medal for services to the community and contribution to government.

She is a firm believer in equity for today’s and tomorrow’s generations. In order to achieve this, Debra believes we need to slow down, catch up and take stock. She supports a diversity of employment, business and recreational facilities and a new vision that takes into account what today’s decisions and actions will mean tomorrow.

Debra continues to receive strong support from family, friends and the community and she remains confidently committed to representing, strongly and passionately, the people of Division 3.
